TRU Campus Recycling Directory
Batteries: can be recycled at Kamloops Batteries Direct (1400-A Battle Street) and their number is 374-8914
Books: old textbooks can be taken to the TRU Bookstore and placed in the wooden bin outside bookies beside the 'buy back' window to be used in the program "Books for Africa".
Cardboard: Flatten and place in the Cardboard recycling bins found in all buildings
Cans: Aluminium cans cans can be recycled in the Recycle Stations as well as the Beverage Recycle containers
Coloured paper; can be recycled at the Recycle stations or in the Mixed Paper Recycle bins
e-waste such as computers, monitors, fax machines, and printers: please take all your e-waste to Lorne St. Bottle Depot (270 Halston Road) phone 372-3721, open 8am to 5pm. See the following website for other drop off locations in BC - www.electronicsrecyclingbc.ca

Envelopes: white and coloured envelopes can be recycled at the recycle Stations and in the mixed paper containers
File folders: Can be placed in the mixed paper recycling bins or at the Recycle Stations in the mixed paper slot
Florescent light bulbs: Take to Canadian Tire at 1441 Hillside drive or to Kamloops Home Hardware at 1475 Hugh Allan Drive for recycling
Glass: glass beverage containers can be recycled at the Recycle Stations or in the Beverage Recycling Containers.
Harzardous Waste: contact the Health and Saftey Department at 828-5139
Margazines: can be recycled at the City of Kamloops Recycling Stations - the closest one to campus is at the end of McGill Road. Or else, take your magazines to the hospital for their waiting rooms.
Milk cartons: Can be recycled in the Beverage recycling containers or the Recycling stations
Newspaper: can be recycled in green recycling containers marked "Newspaper Recycling" beside all the Omega newstands - please DO NOT put newspaper in the mixed paper recycling bins |

Mixed paper: including white and coloured paper can be recycled at the Recycle Stations or in the Mixed Paper recycling bins
Plastic bags: these are not accepted on campus, please take to Save-on-Foods recycle bins
Plastic beverage containers marked with #1 or #7 can be recycled at the Recycle Stations or in the Beverage Recycle bins
Plastic ring binders: can be donated to Penny Pinchers (376-4131), or else separate the plastic from the cardboard, and the cardborad can be recycled at the cardboard recycle bins on campus.
Overhead transparencies: Can not be recycled as yet, so please wash them off and re-use them
Tetra packs: can be recycled at the Recycle Stations or in the Beverage recycle bins
Toner cartridges: send to Stores
Telephone books: send to Stores
