Online Basics

If you haven't taken an online course before, you will probably find that there are both similarities and differences in the way you perform standard computing tasks, such as checking email and saving documents, in Blackboard, TRU-OL's learning management system.

You might also be used to a particular set of computing skills, such as email or messaging, but perhaps you have not spent a lot of time working with other skills such as word processing and uploading or downloading files. This section is intended to help you become familiar with the basic computer skills you'll be using, as well as to provide you with some tips and shortcuts for working with Blackboard.

Blackboard Tutorials

The following video series demonstrates how to access and use important features in Blackboard. Depending on the course, Blackboard may be used for everything from communicating with your fellow students to submitting assignments, so it is worthwhile to familiarize yourself with its features.
