Open Learning Registration and Application Information
How to apply for a program
- Select a program and confirm availability and program details.
- Ensure you have reviewed the requirement information that is outlined in the program descriptions.
- Review academic regulations, including transfer credit and Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition information.
- Fill out the Program Admission/Transfer Credit form
online using the “Register Now” process. Either fax or mail the completed PDF to TRU admissions (see contact information below) or complete the online registration form. Ensure that additional information, such as official transcripts or other documentation, are also sent to Open Learning. Contact Student Services for more information regarding educational advising services, transfer credit, program plans and Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR).
How to register for a course
- Select course(s) and confirm course availability.
- Ensure and declare course prerequisites are met.
- Review academic regulations, including course registration, cancellation and course withdrawal policies, online or with Student Services.
- Confirm access to equipment required (i.e. computer, Internet, DVD player etc…).
- Be aware of the application deadline and the course start date, if the course is paced.
- Select one of the registration and payment methods listed below.

Mail the completed Course Registration form or Program Application form with full fee payment to the address below. Cheque or money order is payable in Canadian funds drawn from a Canadian institution, to Thompson Rivers University.
