Registering in a TRU-OL course is a serious commitment. If you are eligible, you may cancel your registration or withdraw from courses delivered by TRU-OL, but you should carefully consider the academic and financial consequences of this decision.
Cancel
Up to the cancellation deadline, you may cancel your registration if you have not completed any coursework such as submitting an assignment or starting clinical work or a lab.
Normally, the cancellation deadline date is five weeks from the course registration date, but paced and other short format courses have different cancellation deadlines. Refer to the policies here: http://www.tru.ca/distance/services/policies/registration.html
A cancelled registration does not appear on a student's permanent record (transcript).
Complete and submit the Cancellation/Withdrawal Request form by the deadline stated in your welcome letter. (Group delivery students receive information about alternative procedures.)
Withdraw
You may withdraw from the course after the cancellation deadline but before the withdrawal deadline if you have not written the examination, even if you have submitted assignments.
Normally, the withdrawal deadline date is 13 weeks from the course registration date, but paced and other short format courses have different withdrawal deadlines. Refer to the policies here: http://www.tru.ca/distance/services/policies/registration.html
A withdrawal from a course appears as a "W" grade on a student's permanent record (transcript).
Complete and submit the Cancellation/Withdrawal Request form by the deadline stated in your welcome letter. (Group delivery students receive information about alternative procedures.)
* The information provided is only for paced courses delivered by TRU-OL
** Financial aid students should note that cancelling your registration or withdrawing from a course may jeopardize your current funding and eligibility for future funding.
