New Degree Programs
The First Nations Applied Economics program will provide key foundational skills and knowledge to assist in the development of a First Nations economic infrastructure and support long term benefits in the development of residential and commercial enterprises on First Nation lands.
The primary goal of the Accounting Technician Diploma is to train accounting technicians, who generally work as supervisors in accounting departments or as para-professionals in public accounting firms.
The Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) program, designed and developed by Thompson Rivers University, Open Learning (TRU-OL) in collaboration with the School of Public Administration at the University of Victoria, will provide program students with the knowledge and skills required to become effective leaders and managers in both government and non-governmental/non-profit organizations.

Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)
Earn academic credits for knowledge, training and skills you have gained through work and life experience.
Applicants must have a proficiency in English at a level suitable to the course or program of study for which they are applying. Students who have English as a second language may be required to provide evidence of proficiency in English. Refer to detailed information about the English proficiency requirement.
Most TRU programs offered through Open Learning have residency requirements as specified in the program descriptions. Residency requirements are the number of TRU-OL courses or credits that students must complete to graduate from a TRU program offered through Open Learning. (Students applying for financial assistance are required to meet specific residency requirements.)
Students who plan to complete a TRU credential through Open Learning must complete and submit a Program Admission/Transfer Credit form.
