Arts and Science Student Profiles

Composer-pianist-singer Laila Biali, a graduate of the Bachelor of Music, Jazz Studies program, is fast making her mark on the national and international jazz scene. Winner of the CBC Galaxie Rising Start Prize at the 2003 National Jazz Awards, Laila has performed at various venues around the world - including Carnegie Hall - and is currently recording the debut CD of the Laila Biali Trio. We can't wait to hear more!

John Williams obtained his Bachelor of Arts, General Studies through TRU-OL - forty-seven years after he started his university education. A proponent of lifelong learning, John is now taking French, which he plans to speak with his two grandchildren, both French immersion students. Congratulations John, or rather, félicitations!
