Learning Communities

Moodle

Moodle is a web-based community that allows teachers to enhance learning by developing online course material. Moodle is unique in that it is bears no licensing cost to the university and allows for both teacher and learner contributions. To learn more about how you can encorporate Moodle into your course resources contact Doug Baleshta,  Centre for Teaching and Learning at (250) 828-5446.

At TRU, the Faculty for the Advancement of Scholarly Teaching (FAST) is one of many groups making use of Moodle to disseminate meetings, events, and resources. FAST is a faculty-organized group to facilitate discussion for the advancement and support of both teaching and educational research related to  teaching at TRU.  Faculty participation from across the disciplines at  TRU is welcome, and is open to all who are interested.

Instructional courses on the use of WebCT as a teaching tool are routinely offered throughout the year. Notices are posted on the Faculty and Staff mailing lists.

Facebook Discussion Groups

TRU Faculty and Staff are invited to join the Intercultural Teaching and Learning Community Facebook group where members can join discussions, share perspectives, ask questions, or post links.
