Small Group Instructional Feedback (SGIF)

Overview

Invite an Instructional Skills Workshop facilitator into your class to conduct a SGIF. A SGIF uses small group discussions among students to provide confidential feedback to an instructor in order to identify strengths, provide suggestions for improvement, and generally to increase communication between the students and the teacher. A SGIF is a voluntary and confidential process and involves approximately 40 minutes of class time and is generally most effective when conducted half way into the course.
