Certificate in Educational Management
Many college and institute instructors assume key leadership positions such as Coordinators and Department Heads at some point in their careers. This three course certificate will enable you to become a more competent, effective educational leader.
Participants will learn the basics of managing programs and personnel in order to:
- create and manage budgets
- plan and carry out marketing
- plan and execute program development
- plan and execute program review and revision processes
- manage personnel and deal with difficult human relations
The program provides practical application of concepts and will include a combination of lectures, small group discussion, group activities, and projects.
Pre-requisites
- Successful completion of the BC Provincial Instructor Diploma or evidence of current status as a post-secondary instructor or employee
- Completion of ADED 3304 Educational Leadership or equivalent
- Computer word processing skills
Who Takes This Certificate?
This Certificate is offered to professionals actively involved in Adult Education in both public and private settings. Participants should be current or potential managers of education programs.
Certificate Courses
There are three courses in this certificate program:
- Educational Project Management (EDUC 4104)
- Foundations of Applied Education (EDUC 4106)
- Managing Adult Educational Programs (EDUC 4108)
How is the Program Offered?
Each course is forty-two hours of classroom instruction and is offered in a variety of formats including: four weekends over two months, online for 12 weeks, or full time over 8 days. See the course schedule

By the conclusion of this certificate program, students will be able to:

Registration and Course Fees
New students are required to submit an Application for Admission
, $30.00 application fee and documents supporting your area of expertise. You may enroll for courses at the location of your choice on receiving your "Letter of Acceptance".
