Doug Baleshta

Doug is an Assistant Professor and looks after Educational Technology for Faculty. Doug provides numerous sessions and assistance to faculty, staff, and students on using technology. He is a recipient of TRU's Teaching Excellence Award, Alumni Service Award and the BC Science Council Innovation Award

Kyra Garson

M.Ed,
Intercultural Consultant Kyra works through the Centre for Teaching and Learning and TRU World on a variety of initiatives to internationalize TRU. She is the primary author of TRU: A Globally Minded Campus—A Resource for Academic Departments, as well as a suite of other resources to encourage a culturally inclusive campus. Kyra facilitates workshops for students, faculty, and staff to build intercultural competencies and is committed to gaining recognition for this increasingly important skill set in academic settings.

Norm Friesen

M.Ed, PhD.Ed
Dr. Friesen has been developing and studying Web technologies in educational contexts since 1995, and is the principal investigator in the SSHRC-sponsored learningspaces.org project. Dr. Friesen has previously worked as a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Communication at Simon Fraser University, and as an adjunct faculty member at Athabasca University and the University of Toronto, and most recently as a visiting scholar at the Leopold Franzens University, Innsbruck, Austria. In addition to authoring dozens of articles and reports, Dr. Friesen has produced several editions of books on the instructional use of WebCT and on the implementation of the IEEE Learning Object Metadata standard.
