Faculty, Staff, and Administrators

Faculty and staff are encouraged to celebrate the accomplishments of graduands by participating in their Convocation ceremony.  In addition to stage seating, there are other ways for you to interact with graduands on their day of celebration - help them with gowning before the ceremony, participate in the academic procession, or attend the post-ceremony reception in the Horticulture Gardens.

Stage Seating

Owing to limited space on the stage, seating will be reserved on a first-come first-served basis.  Faculty, staff, and administrators from program areas with students convocating will have priority seating for the ceremony.  Overflow seating is available on the floor.

Academic Regalia

For those individuals who are participating in the Academic Procession, gowning for the June ceremonies takes place in the Art Gallery, Student Street.

If you own your academic regalia, bring it to the gowning room and someone will assist you with pinning on your hood. For faculty who do not own their regalia, black gowns and TRU hoods will be available on a first come first served basis.
Please arrive at least one hour before the ceremony begins. A marshal will arrange the processional line-up.

To obtain regalia from your alma mater, purchase or rent it from the bookstore of your graduating university.  Or, you may purchase or rent regalia from Gaspard. Ordering via telephone appears to give the fastest service. If you are purchasing your regalia, please allow at least 6 weeks for the purchase - 1-800-380-8214;
