Because we are a Cost Recovery Department, there are no refunds once a course starts. Courses are checked one week prior to the start of each course & if there are not enough registrants, the course will be cancelled. PLEASE REGISTER EARLY. To receive a refund, a person must withdraw one week prior to the start of the course. If the course falls on a Saturday or Sunday a withdrawal must be done the Friday previous. If the course is cancelled a full refund will be issued. Costs for courses can change periodically.

XBKP 0600: Bookkeeping Level 1
This course gives the student grounding in double-entry accounting theory and an introduction to bookkeeping methods and related clerical procedures, such as petty cash and banking procedures. Introduction to Bookkeeping is designed as a hands-on course. Required Text: Lecture notes and Workbook Century 21 - Chapters 1 to 20.
XBKP 0610: Advanced Bookkeeping
Moving along after Intro to Bookkeeping, learn how to make business mathematical solutions work for you. Discover the value and use of source documents, synoptic journals, subsidiary ledgers, special journals, one-write systems, and business mathematics ranging from percentages to depreciation and interest. Partnership and corporation statements, GST accounting and forms are introduced. New Computer Lab Component - Simply Accounting. Prerequisite: BKPG 060 or Bookkeeping Level 1. Required Text: Lecture notes and Workbook Century 21 - Chapters 1 to 20.
This course is offer during the Winter semester yearly.
Introduction to Web Site Development XPC 0260
Course Description: This course will teach the student the basic skills necessary to create and maintain web pages. Topics included in this course will include HTML, Cascading Style Sheets, and basic scripting using JavaScript and VBScript.
Course Pre-requisites: As this is a course on web design, a basic knowledge of the internet is required. Students should be very comfortable using search engines and navigating websites. Knowledge of a software suite such as Microsoft Office will make learning the tools used in the course easier.
Course Requirements: While there is no required homework in this course, it is recommended that the student spends between 5 and 10 hours each week practicing the course materials. The students will also be required to bring their own storage device for keeping all their course work on. A USB flash drive is recommended.
Course Materials: There will be no required textbooks for this course.
Intro to Better Pix From Your Digital Camera - (XCMP0580)
Add creative sparkle to your photos through a range of tips and tricks that are fun and easy to implement. This hands-on course covers: a better understanding of what your camera can do, being more creative, exploring a range of free and purchase digital software, best practices and options to posting your photos online. Please bring a USB storage device.
YMCR 5150 Simply Accounting 2008 Level 1
Covers the general ledger, payables and receivables modules. You will learn to set up a chart of accounts, post transactions, generate reports and close the books. Basic bookkeeping knowledge is strongly recommended.
XPC 0240 Simply Accounting Level 11 (non-credit course)
Some topics the course will cover: Create a new company data files, set up the bank reconciliation feature and reconcile bank accounts, set up and work with Canadian Payroll, generate payroll reports, remit GST and PST, perform various sundry tasks. Prerequisite: Simply Accounting Level 1 (YMCR 515).
AutoCad 2010 Beginners (XRDF0920)

Prerequisite: Data Processing 11 or an Operating System course, and a sound ability in using MS Windows-based applications. Upon completion the successful participant will have developed the fundamentals in the use of computer aided drafting as an alternative to conventional drafting through the use of microcomputers and AutoCAD software. Topics include: Orthographic projection; geometric construction; dimensioning; sectioning; working drawings; auxiliary views; pictorial drawings. You will be introduced to the latest version of AutoCAD. You will learn how to set up AutoCAD for any scale, unit or paper size; manipulate the screen area using display commands; organize layers, linetypes, and colours; automate the drawing process; edit a drawing and manipulate parts; dimensions; and plot various media. We're very pleased to offer an introduction to architectural desktop to the course content. Please bring a USB storage device to class.
