Because we are a Cost Recovery Department, there are no refunds once a course starts. Courses are checked one week prior to the start of each course & if there are not enough registrants, the course will be cancelled. PLEASE REGISTER EARLY. To receive a refund, a person must withdraw one week prior to the start of the course. If the course falls on a Saturday or Sunday a withdrawal must be done the Friday previous. If the course is cancelled a full refund will be issued. Costs for courses can change periodically.

This is a 7 hour program that covers the Emergency Action Principles, airway management for all ages, breathing management for all ages, and circulation management for all ages. It also covers medical conditions. This course is recognized by the Ministry of Health for licensing in day-care and home care facilities.
Occupational First Aid Level I (OCHS 080)
If you require a first aid certificate for work, this Worker's Compensation Board course fulfills the requirement. Topics include: assessment of the accident scene and injuries, stabilization of life threatening situations, aid for the choking victim, one-person CPR and control of bleeding. Provides certification for which applicants must be 16 YEARS OF AGE or older. Please dress casually.

Occupational First Aid Level II (OCHS 081)
Upon completion of this program, you will be able to demonstrate priority action approach, identify and manage critical interventions of the airway with C-spine control, identify and manage respiratory and circulatory emergencies and conduct secondary surveys. You must be 16 YEARS OF AGE or older. The exam follows immediately after the course is completed on the Saturday. Books for the course can be purchased at our Bookstore here at TRU.
Occupational First Aid Level III (OCHS 082)
This course covers emergency medical techniques currently considered to be within the responsibility of the Level 3 attendant. Emphasis is on priority action approach and patient assessment. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. Please dress casually. The exam will take place on the Saturday at the end of the course. Books for the course can be purchased at our Bookstore here at TRU.
Occupational First Aid Level III Renewal (OCHS 083)
Prerequisite: Student MUST have held a previous OFA Level III or IFA certification, whether current or expired. This course covers emergency medical techniques currently considered to be within the responsibility of the Level 3 attendant. Emphasis is on priority action approach and patient assessment. Applicants must be 16 YEARS OF AGE or older. Dress casually. Exam will take place on the Saturday @ the end of the course. Books for the course can be purchased at our Bookstore here at TRU.

CPR "C" Basic Rescuer (OCHS 069)
This course is for health professionals and people whose job requires a high degree of competency in CPR. You will learn one and two-person CPR and obstructed airway rescue skills related to the adult, child and infant.
Basic Rescuer Recertification (OCHS 079)
Prerequisites: Completion of Basic Rescuer (CPR C). It is fast paced and not recommended if you have not taken a course in the past year. Next course is scheduled for Monday, March 2'09 from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
Transportation Endorsement (OCHS 078)
Learn to assess the accident scene, injuries, stablize life-threatending situations, give an injured person a better chance of survival until more help arrives. Includes cpr, first aid for choking and control of bleeding. A person must be 16 years of age or over to take the course. In order to take any TE course the person must have a valid OFA Level 1 certificate.
