Become an Employer of Choice

Employers - Employer of Choice

TRU's Career Education Department offers access to over 10,000 students and graduates across a variety of disciplines. Whether your employment needs are to fill temporary or casual positions, or you're looking for the ideal candidate to add to your team long term, our co-ordinators can assist you with your hiring needs and on campus recruiting needs.

  • Have a Campus Presence

Employers can participate in events run throughout the year by the Career Education Department. These events include information panels, information sessions, and information booths on Student Street.

Another great way for employers to promote themselves and recruit students is through presentations during Employer Information Sessions. Meeting with students in a closed group setting will enable you to get the message out that your organization is a viable employment option.

Employers are also able to register for TRU's Job Fair, which attracts 40-60 employers and around 1200 students! This is a great way to meet a large number of students and promote your business. Check out Job Fair for more information and to register.

Organizations may also elect to hold a presentation prior to their on-campus interviews. In these sessions, representatives speak about career paths within their organization and about the positions they may be recruiting for on campus.

The Career Education Department will help you schedule, coordinate and promote the Employer Information Session. 3 weeks advance notice are required to publicize your employer event effectively.

TRU Career Education is able to provide off campus national employers the opportunity to provide information sessions and and employer branding through SKYPE presentations.

  • Campus Interviews

Campus interviews offer a convenient location for employers and students to conduct an interview for either full-time positions or Co-op positions. The Career Education Department offers interview rooms for your use.

  • Resume Drop

If you would prefer to interview candidates in your own office, then the Résumé Drop program is an excellent alternative to campus interviews. We will advertise your job opportunity to students through our online job posting program, and allow students to submit their résumés to the Career Education Department. We accumulate these résumés for you and then send them to you directly.
