Adding or Making Online Course Changes

Once you have prepared your timetable and have the list of CRNs you need for lectures, labs and tutorials, you can add courses, drop courses or change selections through your myTRU account:

    • Log in to myTRU
    • Select the Student Resources tab
    • Select Add or Drop Courses under Register for Kamloops Campus Courses.
      (You can register for courses one at a time by selecting the check boxes or all at once using the CRNs from your timetable/worksheet.)
    • Scroll to bottom of the page and Submit Changes.
    • The Add or Drop Courses screen will appear showing which courses were registered. If you want to make changes, use the action box to Drop or Return to Menu, and select the Look Up Course screen to begin the process again.

If the section you want is full: Choose an alternative section or course offered at a different time and Submit Changes.

If you wish to wait-list for a course, select Waitlist in the Action box. You will need to be familiar with the Wait-List Registration Process which will email your Student Outlook Web Access when a seat becomes available.

Adding courses with labs: You will need to register in both the lecture portion and the lab portion of the course — you will need both the lecture CRN and the lab CRN to ensure you register properly.

Making a section change:

If you wish to change to another seminar or lab, you need to add the seminar or lab and drop the existing seminar or lab in one transaction — therefore, you indicate the CRN for the section you wish to add, then indicate the CRN for the section you wish to drop — then click submit. If you click submit after each set, you will be dropped from the lecture portion of the course or will receive an error message.
