Diploma in Management
The Diploma in Management is a two-year program designed to assist students in developing key employment skills such as problem solving, oral and written communications, customer service, leadership, and computing abilities as well as a strong sense of business ethics. A series of unpaid practicums will help to develop and reinforce these skills by providing valuable work experience.
Students who wish to continue their education can pursue a university degree. At TRU, diploma graduates can ladder into the Bachelor of Business Administration and complete it in just two more years. In the degree, students can choose from specializations in accounting, economics, finance, human resource management, international business and marketing. A Co-operative Education Option is also available, which provides students with another opportunity to combine their academic studies with paid, career-related work experience.
Students can take this program on a part-time basis if they so desire. Those who complete the first year will be awarded a Management Certificate. This qualifies graduates for some entry-level positions, but job prospects may be more limited.
If you enjoy working with people and are a creative person with good communication skills, this program could be for you.
