SoBE Programs

TRU’s diverse and welcoming campus, spectacular natural setting, and innovative programs add up to an exceptional university experience. Flexible course offerings and exciting opportunities for collaboration allow students to build the understanding, skills and confidence they need to succeed in a business environment.

Program offerings include:

Cooperative Education and Study Abroad Opportunities

Students are able to gain work experience in their field while they are completing their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree through the Cooperative Education Option. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the TRU Study Abroad program (www.truworld.ca/exchange.html) or in Field Schools in other countries.

First Nations Opportunities

Through SoBE, First Nations students have the opportunities to register in Certificate programs housed in Economics or join the Ch'Nook Scholars Program. More information on both is available here

Flexible Learning

Students may study on campus in Kamloops, or through a combination of on-campus and online learning. Courses are offered in Fall, Winter, and Summer each year, allowing students flexibility around work, family commitments, travel, and study abroad.

Continuous Learning

TRU offers a number of laddering opportunities to students. Students are able to progress from a one-year certificate, to a two-year diploma, and then to a four-year degree with minimal loss of credits. The Certificate or Diploma option may be of interest to students who wish to have a one- or two-year program which gives them core business skills but which still allows them to return to school (or continue directly to a third year) to complete a four-year degree.
