Community Futures of Thompson Country Bursary

An award of $1000 annually to a student who demonstrates financial need/and, is entering the third or fourth year of degree studies in Economics is available. Student must be a resident of the Community Futures service area, have achieved a minimum GPA of 2.5 and have earned or be earning grade of 2.5 or above in ECON 3100. Must have an interest in serving in a volunteer capacity with Community Futures. Deadline: September 15.

Business and Tourism Study Abroad Scholarships

Two scholarships awarded annually to one business student and one tourism student who are participating in the study abroad program. No application necessary. Selection by faculty. Spring Award.

Fiscal Realities Economists Award

Income awarded annually to a top academic student who has completed the third year of a B.A. or B.B.A. and who has taken BUEC 3330, ECON 2950, BUEC 2040 or ECON 2900. Selection by faculty. No application necessary.

North Shore Business Improvement Association Bursary

Income from an endowment established in 1991 will provide an annual bursary to a student in BBA who demonstrates financial need and satisfactory academic standing. Deadline: September 15.

Real Estate Foundation Awards

Income from an endowment established in 1988 will provide annual awards of various amounts to students who are/were enrolled in one or more real estate related courses and who intend to pursue careers in real estate related fields. Eligible courses and programs include: COMM 2250; ECON 1900, 1950, 3500, 3710, 3740; GEOG 2100, 2750, 3210, 4230, 4500; EDDT; Preference to licensees or family of licensees. Deadline: September 15.

Weyerhaeuser Community Education Scholarships

One scholarship of $2,000 awarded to a top student in the Natural Resource Management Program or the Forestry Program. One scholarship of $2,000 awarded to a top student in the 3rd or 4th year of the BBA program. Preference will be given to students who graduated from a high school in a Weyerhaeuser operating community in Canada. Award recipients will be contacted by Weyerhaeuser during the academic year. Deadline: September 15.
