Program requirements

 Lower Level Stucture:

  • Econ 1900: Introduction to Microeconomics
  • Econ 1950: Introduction to Macroeconomics

 Select TWO courses from the following list:

  • ANTH 1110: Human Origins or ANTH 1190: Introduction to Archeology or ANTH 1210: Cultural Anthropology
  • ECON 2950: Intermediate Macroeconomics Theory or ECON 2900: Intermediate Microeconomics Theory (Pre-req for Econ 4720)
  • GEOG 1120: Earth's Land and Waters or GEOG 1220: Climatology and Biogeography or GEOG 2100: Human Interaction with the Natural Environment
  • PHIL 2010: Introduction to Ethics or PHIL 2210: Contemporary Moral Issues
  • SOCI 1110: Introduction to Sociology I and SOCI 1210: Introduction to Sociology II
  • SOCI 2620: Sociology of the Environment (Pre-re SOCI 1110 and 1210)

 Upper level Structure: Six courses of which 4 must be from Economics Course list.

 Select 12 credits from the following upper level Economics courses:

  • ECON 3690: Community Economic Development
  • ECON 3700: Cost Benefit Analysis for Project Evaluation
  • ECON 3710: Environmental Economics
  • ECON 3730: Forestry Economics
  • ECON 3740: Land Use
  • ECON 4720: Sustainable Economic Development (Pre-req Econ 2900 or permission from instructor)

 Select 6 credits from the following social science and humanities list of courses:

  • ANTH 3260: Environmental Archaeology or ANTH 3390: First Nations Resource Management or ANTH 4060: Cultural Resource Management
  • GEOG 3100: Environment and Resources or GEOG 4230: Attitudes towards the Environment or GEOG 4800: Environmental Issues and Policies
  • PHIL 4350: Environmental Ethics
  • SOCI 3600: Sociology and Natural Resources (Pre-req: SOCI 1110 and 1210)
