Elite Volleyball
These weeks will are divided up in order to further a players understanding and execution of game specific skills in a competitive situation. Specialization setting allows a player to receive maximal coaching in an environment that will force a player to bring their A Game to the gym each and every session.
Below is what a typical morning would look like for Elite Volleyball:
9:00-9:15 Introductions (explain specializations)
9:15-10:35 Warmup
10:35-10:45 Organize into Teaching Groups
10:45-10:55 Demo of Forearm Contacts - Free Ball, Serve Receive, Dig, Set (Pat)
11:00-11:30 Practice of Forearm Contact Skills (organize Triples teams)
11:30-11:40 Demo 5vs5
11:40-11:10 Return to teaching groups 5vs5
Camp Break 10mins
11:20-11:10 Break into specialization
• SETTERS: Hand Position; Ball Position; Use of Fingers,Thumbs,Wrist and Forearm; Basic Stance; Net Position; Achieving Net Position; Basic Front Outside Lazy Shoot.
• POWERS/OFFSIDES : Solidify Arm-Swing: Overspin, Accuracy, Contact Point; Spiking Footwork: Rhythm, Timing and Control.
• LIBEROs: Serve Receive (underhand) and Defense – indiv.
• MIDDLES: Blocking: Hand Position,
Arm Position, Movement - 1 Step, Shuffle, Crossover. Spiking: Quick Set Approach and Arm-Swing.
11:15-11:50 Return to teaching courts and play 3vs3
11:50-12:00 Camper of the day awards
Although some age groups are playing at the same time they are separated based on age and ability.
