KAMLOOPS - Forwards Michelle Dimond of Port Moody and Jessica Mulock of North Vancouver, both talented scholar athletes who have excelled in the classroom and on the court throughout their high school years, have committed to the TRU WolfPack women’s basketball team for the 2007-08 season.
Dimond, a 5’10” all-around athlete who graduates from Port Moody Secondary School this June, has garnered both academic and athletic awards throughout her high school career and plays soccer and hockey as well as basketball.
“Michelle comes from a quality high school program at Port Moody coached by Alex Devlin. All the players that have passed through Alex’s system have a solid knowledge base of the game and that makes the transition to the next level easier. I very much look forward to Michelle joining our team next year,” he added.
“Michelle is an extremely hard worker and her work ethic will certainly enhance our practice environment which makes all our players better,” said TRU WolfPack women’s basketball head coach Scott Reeves.

Jessica Mulock, a 5'10” forward who has also played in the post position will graduate from Sutherland Secondary this June. As well as receiving high achievement awards for her academic performance throughout her high school years, Mulock, who also plays volleyball and soccer, has been named her school’s athlete of the year since grade 8. She plays with the 3D Elite Basketball and Vancouver Only Women's Soccer teams, and was named a 1st-team all-star at the Alberta REB Basketball Tournament in 2006.
“Jessica is a taller body that can run the floor,” said Reeves. “Jessica will add some much needed size for us to compete in the ever tough Canada West. Her attitude toward excellence is something that we firmly believe in here at TRU. Jessica is a great teammate and will fit well within our team philosophy. She has wanted to come to TRU for some time and that’s always exciting.”
Both students will be starting classes in TRU’s Faculty of Arts this September.
