Volleyball coaching symposium and certification at TRU Feb 3-4

KAMLOOPS- Volleyball BC will host a coaching symposium at TRU the first weekend in February, 3-4, as part of a series of coaching symposiums it will hold across the province.
Participants can choose to attend the Saturday, February 3rd symposium, which will include presentations from top coaches in Western Canada and a CIS match between Thompson Rivers University and the University of Alberta, or the NCCP Level 1 Technical Component of Coaching Certification program to be held Sunday, February 4th, from 9 am to 5 pm, or both.
Presenters and topics at Saturday’s symposium include serving with Dave Olynyk, who has coached teams to four AA high school championships, attacking with Rod Belinski, who has five AA & AAA high school championships to his credit, ball-control drills with Chad Grim, former player and coach in the Danish Elite League, defense with Laurie Eisler, University of Alberta women’s head coach and five-time CIS Champion, an open question & answer period with Terry Danyluk, University of Alberta men’s head coach and 1997 & 2005 CIS champion team coach, serve receive with TRU WolfPack men’s volleyball head coach Patrick Hennelly, and skill development with Chris Campbell, Northern Arizona University (NCAA) head coach.
Cost for the February 3rd symposium, which included admission to the CIS match, is $100, while the cost for the February 4th coaching certification clinic is $50, with cheques made payable to the Kamloops Volleyball Association.
