For immediate Release: March 9, 2009

Kamloops, BC—There was a familiar name when the all-stars were announced at this weekends Provincial “AA” Girls High School Basketball Championships in Kamloops. One of the players selected has a big connection to the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Women’s Basketball Program.

Grade 12 forward Karalyn Forsyth of Vernon Secondary was named to the all-star squad leading her Panther team to a 2 and 2 record and a berth in the bronze medal game. Forsyth, who has committed to the WolfPack for the fall of 2009 is the second member of her family to be named to the Provincial all-star team.

She follows in the footsteps of her older sister Kayla. Kayla, also a grad of Vernon Secondary was a tournament all star in 2005 when she was in grade 12. Kayla will enter her fourth year with the WolfPack program as a forward.

Karalyn’s Panther team lost to eventual champion Kalamalka in the semi finals and then to 2008 champion Mission in this years bronze medal game.
