Kamloops:  An effort by the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack volleyball teams to raise goods for the Student Union Food Bank was a big success.

Fans attending Saturday’s (Nov 29) matches against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies were asked to bring a non perishable food item.  Those goods would go towards the student food bank.
“I think it was a big success,” said Athletic Director Ken Olynyk  “We raised over 150 pounds of food.  From peanut butter, to pasta.  I’m sure it’ll help the students who are in need.”

Part of the incentive of bringing in a donation for the student food bank was the opportunity to win either a backpack full of WolfPack Gear or a Team Jacket.

“This is something we will definitely look at as a yearly event.” Said Olynyk.

The food drive was a success, and so was the effort of the WolfPack as both teams won against the Huskies that night.
