For Immediate Release:  May 14, 2009

Kelowna, BC—The BC Colleges Athletic Association has revamped its soccer schedule for 2009.  The  BC CAA  adopted a preliminary schedule at its annual general meeting this week in Kelowna.   According to Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Athletic Director Ken Olynyk ,  the new schedule (which still has to be finalized) will provide more games than its original draft  and feature a new playoff format.

The schedule will include 12 league games plus playoffs. That is down from 14 regular season games in 2008: however, six teams will make the playoffs meaning the post season weekend will now be a Friday-Sunday affair.

The first weekend of the BC CAA regular season will be September 5 th with the Provincials set for October 22nd-24 th.   In 2008,  The TRU WolfPack Women’s team finished first in the regular season and second in the playoffs.  The WolfPack Men were third in the regular season and second in the playoffs.

The Canadian College National Championships are being held in Ontario November 4-7 th.
