WOLFPACK BASEBALL WINS FIFTH IN A ROW.

Kamloops, BC--Make it five in a row. That is how many games the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack baseball club has won. The WolfPack wrapped up their Canadian College Baseball Conference homestand with an 11-7 win over the visiting Okanagan College Cubs of Kelowna.

The WolfPack (now 6-3 in league play) erased an early 1-0 deficit by scoring twice in the opening inning. They then went up 6-1 after two innings. after the teams exchanged runs in the third, TRU took a 9-2 lead in the fourth. The Cubs rallied to make it close scoring single runs in the sixth and seventh innings and three in the top of the ninth.

TRU finished the game with 11 runs on 11 hits and two errors. The Cubs(now 5 and 4) had their seven runs on five hits and four errors.

Mike Juarez (Rhp, Calgary, Alta) was the winner in relief. He surrendered a hit in two innings of work and had three strikeouts. He is now 1 and 2 in the spring. Danny Moore (Rhp, Victoria, BC) started the game and went a single inning fanning three.

Greg Cros (Pitcher/infielder, Montpellier, France) was 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles, three runs scored and an RBI. Cros now has five doubles for the spring season.

Ryan McFadden (Infielder, Oliver, BC) was 2 for 2 for the WolfPack while Williams Lake native Tanner Gainer (3rd base) was 1 for 1 with a triple, a walk and an RBI.

The WolfPack hit the road for games this Easter Weekend. They travel to Vancouver Island to play the VIU Mariners in doubleheaders on April 11 and 12 th (Sat and Sun). Their next home action is an exhibition game against these Okanagan College cubs April 25 th at Norbrock Stadium.
