WOLFPACK BASEBALL WIN THREE OF FOUR WEEKEND GAMES WITH U OF C

Calgary, Alta-The winning streak ended, but it was still a good weekend for Ray Chadwick and the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack baseball team. The WolfPack took three of four games from the University of Calgary Dinos to up their spring record to 29-16.
The WolfPack's eight game winning streak was snapped in the first game of Sunday's (May 3) doubleheader at Burns Field in Calgary. The Dinos won 2-1. But TRU got back on the winning track with a 10-9 10 inning victory over the U of C.
In the first game, Calgary scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and held on. Bryan Mahon (RHP, Fruitvale, BC) was the losing pitcher. He went six innings surrendering eight hits, 2 earned runs, while striking out five and walking one. Mahon is now 2 and 4 on the season.
Scott Nevison (infielder, North Vancouver, BC) was 3 for 4 with a stolen base. Yoshi Nakamura (catcher/infielder, Yokohama, Japan) was 2 for 3 with a walk, a double and an RBI. He now has 17 RBI on the year.
In the second game...TRU erased an early 1-0 deficit scoring five runs in the fifth inning. With the score 8-4 WolfPack in the 8 th inning, Calgary scored four to tie things up. The game went to 10 innings where TRU scored twice in their half of the frame, the Dinos 1.
Calgary outhit TRU 16-5 in that game while committing two errors to the WolfPack's one.
Chris Clark (RHP, Prince George, BC) was the winning pitcher. He went the final four innings surrendering four hits, four earned runs, striking out two and walking two. It was his first victory in his first outing.
Michael Juarez (RHP, Calgary, Alta) went the first five innings. He gave up 10 hits, four runs (three of them earned), striking out four and walking two. Morgan Zahara (RHP, Rycroft, Alta) recorded his first save of the spring pitching the final inning, giving up two hits and an earned run.
TRU will close out the CCBC Regular Season at home with three games: an exhibition tilt Wednesday (May 6th) against Okanagan College. They then play four regular season games against Kwantlen Polytechic Eagles. Those games go Saturday and Sunday at Norbrock Stadium (May 9-10).
