WOLFPACK BASEBALL SPLIT WITH KWANTLEN IN THE FIRST OF FINAL TWO GAMES OF REGULAR SEASON

Kamloops BC--A 500 start to the final weekend of the Canadian College Baseball Conference regular season for the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack. The WolfPack lost the first of four games with the Kwantlen Polytechnic Eagles at Norbrock Stadium 5-2 before rallying to win the second 6-2. That puts the WolfPack regular season record at 17 and 9. Kwantlen is at 9 and 15 with two games to play.
In the first game, Kwantlen scored two runs in the seventh inning to enlarge what was a 3-2 lead. The Eagles had five runs on 12 hits in the ball game with one error. TRU had two runs (singles in the second and seventh innings) on six hits and one error.
Danny Moore (RHP, Victoria, BC) saw his record drop to 7 and 3 as he went seven innings, giving up 12 hits and all five runs (all earned). He walked one and struck out four. Mike Tomlinson (DH, Campbell River, BC) was 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and a stolen base. First baseman Dillon Morgan (Camp Verde Arizona) was 2 for 3 with an RBI.
In the second game, Jordan Broatch (RHP, White Rock, BC) of the WolfPack pitched his sixth complete game. Broatch surrendered eight hits, four runs, struck out three . Of the four runs, two of them were earned as Broatch raised his record to 10 and 2 in the spring.
TRU had single runs in the first two innings to jump to a two 2-0 lead. They were up 6-0 by the fourth inning after scoring deuces in the third and fourth. Kwantlen scored all their runs in the top half of the seventh.
Morgan was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI. Adam Halland (infielder, Kamloops, BC) was 2-3 with a walk, a double and a stolen base. Shortstop Kyle Dhanani (Blaine, Wash) was 2 for 5 with a run scored, a stolen base and 2 RBI giving him a team leading 40 for the spring.
The two teams will close out the CCBC season at Norbrock Stadium on Mother's Day (May 10). The 'Pack intend to send Bryan Mahon (RHP, Fruitvale, BC 3-5) and Greg Cros (RHP, Montpellier, France 0-1) to the hill. Game times are 11 am and 1 pm.
Both teams will advance to the CCBC Final League Tournament which begins Thursday May 14 th in Lethbridge.
