BASEBALL UNVEILS 2009 SPRING SCHEDULE

Kamloops, BC—It may be cold outside, but Ray Chadwick and his Thompson Rivers University WolfPack baseball team is already dreaming of the spring. Chadwick has released his 2009 spring season which includes more games than ever before.
“It’s important that our guys get a lot of games in before the start of the season. “ says Chadwick. The WolfPack will make their annual pilgrimage to Arizona for spring training during the school’s reading break in mid February. Unlike last season, where they played only 5 games, The WolfPack will play nine games beginning February 16 th when they take on South Mountain and Phoenix College.
After the Arizona trip, the WolfPack will then spend the final weekend of February in Oregon with a pair of doubleheaders against Central Oregon University. Thompson Rivers will also play no less than six exhibition tilts in Washington State beginning March 7 th against Olympic Community College in Bremerton Washington. They finish off their pre-season in Moses Lake Washington the weekend of March 16 th and 17 th against Big Bend Community College.
The WolfPack don’t begin the Canadian College Baseball Conference season until March 21 st when they host Okanagan and Kwantlen in a pair of doubleheaders at NorBrock Stadium.
The CCBC championship series is again being held in Lethbridge Alberta on May 14-16 th. The WolfPack finished second last season, losing out to the host Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs in the final.
TRU won the league title in 2007.
