WOLFPACK DROP FIFTH START OF PRE SEASON

Phoenix Ariz—“We gave up some walks and dropped the ball a lot.” The words of Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Baseball head coach Ray Chadwick following his teams fifth loss of Spring Training 2009. The WolfPack fell 10-3 to the host Glendale Community College Vaqueros.

Glendale scored four runs in the fifth inning and three more in the seventh.

Mike Juarez (RHP, Calgary, Alta) was the losing pitcher coming on in in relief of starter Danny Moore (RHP, Victoria, BC). Moore went the first four innings.

Both Dillon Morgan (1st base, Camp Verde, Az) and Scott Nevison (Inf/OF, North Vancouver, BC) were 2 for 3 at the plate for TRU.

The WolfPack fall to 2 and 5 in the pre-season. They have one more game tonite (6 pm Feb 19). They take on the Gateway Junior College Geckos in Mesa Arizona.

TRU concludes the Arizona portion of their Spring Training Fridady (Feb 20) with a 6 pm doubleheader against Chandler/Gilbert Coyotes in Gilbert Arizona. Chandler/Gilbert is ranked in the top 15 in the U.S Junior College Rankings.

From there, the WolfPack return home for the start of classes on Monday (Feb 23). They will head to Bend Oregon next weekend (Feb 28-Mar 1) for a pair of doubleheaders against Central Oregon.
