WOLFPACK SWEEP EAGLES IN FINAL REGULAR SEASON DOUBLEHEADER

Kamloops, BC--The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack served up a special present for their mom's on Mother's Day. The 'Pack closed out their Canadian College Baseball Conference Spring season with a doubleheader sweep of the Kwantlen Polytechnic Eagles at Norbrock Stadium. The scores were 9-1 in the first game and 9-3 in the second.
The 'Pack jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the third inning of the opening game and added three more in the fifth inning after Kwantlen scored their only run in the top of the fourth. Bryan Mahon (RHP, Fruitvale, BC) pitched a complete game for his 4 th victory of the season against 5 defeats. he had 1 walk and two strike outs surrendering five hits.
Scott Nevison (infielder, North Vancouver, Bc) went 3 for 3 with a run scored and a walk. Mike Tomlinson (DH, Campbell River, BC was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, a stolen base and a RBI. Chris Clark (outfielder/RHP Prince George, BC) was 1 for 1 with a double and an RBI.
In the second game. TRU scored a run in the bottom of the first and second. Kwantlen evened things up with a deuce in the top of the third. TRU countered with two more in the bottom of the fourth, three in the fifth and two in the seventh inning. Kwantlen added a single in the top of the 9 th.
Both teams had eight hits in the ball game.
The third of three WolfPack Pitchers got the victory. Mike Juarez (RHP, Calgary, Alta) went two innings, giving up three hits and striking out three. He finished at 2 and 2 on the season. Mike Tomlinson (RHP, Campbell River, BC) started and had two innings of work with a strikeout. He was followed by Greg Cros (RHP, Montpellier, France) who went two innings, giving up five hits and picking up two earned runs.
Offensively, TRU was led by shortstop Kyle Dhanani (Blaine, Wash). Dhanani was 2 for 4 with two runs scored, a walk and two stolen bases. First baseman Dillon Morgan continued his hot weekend with a 2 for 3 performance with two runs scored and a stolen base. Outfielder Jimmy Semaschuk (Whitehorse, Yt) was 1 for 1 with an RBI.
The WolfPack finish the CCBC season with a record of 19 and 9 and were 32-17 overall. Kwantlen finished at 9 and 17.
Both teams advance to the CCBC League Championship Tournament which opens Thursday (May 14) in Lethbridge, Alta.
