For Immediate Release: October 29,2008

Kamloops-"Its nice, but we'd trade it for gold medals."  That is how Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Soccer coaches Eric Schweizer and Sean Wallace are reacting to being named the BC College Athletic Association Coaches of the Year for 2008.

'It is really an award for the coaching staffs," says Schweizer, who helped lead the WolfPack Women to a first place finish in the BC CAA regular season. "I have been working with Glen (Archer) and Kelly (Shantz) for the last seven years. We all have our responsibilities and I think we work well.  And being blessed with a great team is always a bonus."

For Wallace, the 2008 award is his second BC CAA Coach of the year honor. He won the award in 2001.

"I've surrounded myself with good people," says Wallace referring to co-head coach John Antulov and new assistant coach Hee Young Chung and manager Errol Wild."

The WolfPack Mens team finished third in the regular season.  Both TRU Teams finished with silver medals at the provincials and will be the host clubs for next week's Big Kahuna/Adidas CCAA National championships which open up November 5 th at Hillside Stadium.

Both coaches are former Kamloops youth soccer coaches.
