Gilbert, Arizona--The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Baseball team ended their Spring Training in Arizona on a sour note. The 'Pack gave up six runs in the sixth inning and fell to Chandler/Gilbert Community College 10-6 in a game that went seven innings.  It left the WolfPack's pre season record at 3 and 6.

"I know we are going to hit well,"said WolfPack Skipper Ray Chadwick. "But if we don't get the pitching and the defence, it is going to be a long year. Tonite, neither our pitching or defense helped us."

TRU scored two runs in the first, second and third innings.  In the fourth, Chandler/Gilbert got the 'Pack to go down swinging in order. TRU had men at second and third in the fifth inning and couldn't bring them across.

Bryan Mahon (Trail, BC) started on the mound for TRU. He was going strong for three innings before taking a ball off the shin.

"I don't know if he'll be able to go for us next weekend." said Chadwick referring to the teams next set of exhibition doubleheaders against Central Oregon (Feb 28 and Mar 1).

Greg Cros (RHP, Montpellier, France) came on in relief and was tagged with the loss as the WolfPack committed three errors and walked two batters to open up that fateful sixth.

Offensively, shortstop Kyle Dhanani (Blaine, Wash) was 2 for 4 at the plate with two hits and two stolen bases.  Ben Bradford (Catcher/Outfielder, Kamloops, BC) had a double as he went 1 for 3 with two RBI.  Joe Cameron (Naniamo, BC) was 2 for 4.
