TRU WOLFPACK WOMENS VOLLEYBALL WELCOMES NEW PLAYER

wvbdanisilvaThe International flavor of the Thompson Rivers University Volleyball program has just got bigger.  Wolfpack Women's Coach Carrie Barrett is pleased to announce the addition of Brazilian Dani Silva.  Dani holds a bachelors of Physicial Education. Through the TRU World program, shes coming to Canada to study Tourism and Event Management.  "Dani will help us through her experience and abilities alone," says Barrett.  Silva has been playing volleyball in Brazil's top league. She also competed in her National Championship five years-helping to win the title four times.

"She's versatile," adds Barrett. "She'll be able to complement both the middle and the outside attacking positions on the court."

The six foot Silva's appearance comes at a great time. The WolfPack have lost sophmore outside Kim Olness (Calgary) and Left side Tanis Holetgen( Langley) to injuries. Olness is gone with a fractured ankle. Holetgen has a fractured finger.  Silva arrives in town this weekend and will practice with her new teammates starting Monday (6-8 pm at the TCC).

Silva should make her Canada West debut on January 4th and 5th when the University of Winnipeg Wesmen come to the Tournament Capital Center. Both matches start at 6 pm.

The Lady WolfPack enter the second half of the season with a record of 2 and 8.
