WolfPack Soccer heading to Provincial Playoffs

wsocaction1The women were number one in the province heading into this weekend's games and remained in the lead thanks to their 0-0 tie against Langara on Saturday, October 20. And with a 3-0 win over Langara today the men's soccer team has secured its ticket to the provincial playoffs in Kwantlen next weekend.

The men had locked in third place with their victory over Langara, and had the chance to finish 2nd depending on Sunday's action.  No matter the outcome, they knew thay would definitely play the Kwantlen Eagles in the semi-final of the provincials.  The game did set up a very big match for our men's opponent, however.  Douglas College needed at least a tie with TRU to tie Langara for the last and final playoff position, with a win by Douglas advancing them to the provincial tournament and leaving Langara at home.  Douglas came through with their victory, beating our men's team 1-0 and finalizing the last playoff spot of Douglas against Capilano.

Game time for the TRU WolfPack men's soccer team is this Saturday, October 27 at 1:15 pm at McLeod Athletic Park in Langley.

On the women's side, TRU needed a win against Douglas to guarantee first place, as Langara played UNBC on Sunday and there were large assumptions that Langara would win due to UNBC's winless record this season.  Unfortunately, our women fell just short with a 1-1 tie, and now play Capilano College in the first playoff semi-final at 11 am this Saturday, October 27 at Mcleod Athletic Park.
