Its mission accomplished for the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack Baseball team. After having 12 wins taken away from them after having been deemed to have used and illegal player, Ray Chadwick and the defending Canadian College Baseball Conference champions have the chance to keep their title.

The WolfPack swept their final series of the regular season with the Kwantlen Eagles. They won handily 6-2 and 5-1 on Thursday (May 8).

In the first game: Catcher Bryan Burston (2nd year, Westbank BC) went 4 for 5 at the dish with a double and two stolen bases to pace TRU, who had a 3-0 lead after two innings of play.  The 'Pack, who scored all the other runs they needed in the third inning saw shortstop Kyle Dhanani  (2nd year, Blaine Wash) belt a two run homer. He was 1 for 5 in the contest.  It was his first round tripper of the Spring

Matt Bannister (3rd year, RHP, St. Johns Nfld) returned from the injury reserve list to pitch the first three innings for TRU. Bannister gave up a run while surrendering six hits and striking out seven.  Jordan Broatch (RHP, Surrey BC) came on in relief to get the victory. He went six innings: striking out seven and giving up six hits. He notched his third victory of the year to go to 3 and 3 for the spring

Four runs in the opening inning were all that the WolfPack needed as they beat the Eagles 5-1.  Lee Ingram (4 th year, RHP, Penticton BC) has been TRU's top reliever. But of late, he's got a number of starts.  In this game, the big guy went the distance on a complete game two hit shutout.  He struck out nine.  Ingram finished the spring with a 4 and 1 record.

Offensively, TRU was led by Scott Nevison (Inf, 2nd year Calgary Alta). He had a pair of doubles and 2 RBI while going 2 for 4.  Anthony Cros (outfielder, 4 th year, Montpellier France) was 1 for 3 with a triple and two runs batted in.

The WolfPack finish the season at 13 and 17.  They now await the CCBC Playoffs which begin May 15 in Lethbridge Alberta.
