Sports Task Force
The Sports Task Force encourages B.C. students to commence their post-secondary education and athletic performance closer to home, specifically at Thompson Rivers University. We want to capitalize on our sports vehicle to make all B.C. post-secondary students aware of the University in Kamloops option.
History
The Thompson Rivers University Sports Task Force is an association of individuals representing the community of Kamloops. It is our mandate to raise funds for the granting of scholarships to student athletes at TRU.
The Sports Task Force was formed in the spring of 1980 and has since raised in excess of $1,000,000, every penny of which is for the benefit of the student athlete at Thompson Rivers University, the WolfPack. We have proudly grown to the point where we currently award approximately $100,000.00 annually to active university athletes and student support staff.
The three major fundraising events that the Sports Task Force holds are the annual scholarship campaign at the first of the year, the Annual Casino Night in October, and the Annual Golf Tournament which is held the first Friday in June.
