Field School in East/Central Europe (ANTH403)

Offered since 1993, the Field School in East/Central Europe provides an opportunity to engage in supervised ethnographic fieldwork in a number of exciting locations off the beaten path.

Field Course Europe

Usually, it spans the month of May, and the itinerary includes urban and rural communities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Bosnia & Hercegovina, and Montenegro. Detailed information may be found at www.tru.ca/europe.

TRU Archaeology Field School (ANTH306)

The nine credit archaeology field school comprises two courses, Anth 306-6 "Summer Field Training in Archaeology," and Anth 411-3 "Prehistory of a Special Area in the New World." Students undertake six weeks of fieldwork and laboratory analysis at an archaeological site, normally in British Columbia.

Field Course Archaeology

The course provides students with hand-on training in archaeological survey, mapping, excavation and recording techniques, as well as lab analysis, interpretation of artifact and faunal remains, and reporting.
