TRU's Physical Setting

Kamloops located in a dry, semi-desert valley, carved into the Interior Plateau by the Thompson Rivers and glaciers of the last ice age. Our summers are warm and can be hot, with daily highs sometimes exceeding  35°C for a week or more at a time. Our winters are cool, but seldom cold. January highs are normally a few degrees below zero.

Thompson Rivers University's Kamloops campus overlooks the valley. The view from the Arts, Student Union, and new Residence are spectacular. Tourism Kamloops has set up two web cams on the top floor of the later.
