1-on-1 Pairings

The TRU Career Mentoring team sets out to pair industry professionals (mentors) and TRU students in a 1-on-1 pairing. Students and mentors are matched based on the online registration form (see below). 1-on-1 pairings are designed to enhance students career understanding. By meeting with a mentor in specific occupation or industry, students can gain valuable information and tips on their prospective careers and learn how they can make themselves more marketable.

Pairings begin in November and end mid-April. The mentor and student are encouraged to meet at least once a month for an hour; however, all meetings are at the discretion of the pairing.

There are number of different activities mentors and students can participate in together:

• Coffee/lunch
• Tour of mentor's office
• Go for a hike
• Complete a mock interview
