How to Register – Fall and Winter (2011/2012)
Register using myTRU: Learn How to Register
Prepare early for registering into your courses. Do not wait until your actual date to decide on which courses you want to take for Fall and Winter. If you need help deciding on what to take, refer to Choosing & Timetabling Courses.

for registration.

Online Web Tutorial
Access the
Online Web Tutorial, to view the screenshots once you have logged onto
myTRU. This tutorial is a very important step in logging into and using myTRU. All
students must become familiar with myTRU to access their Grades, register for courses
online, print Fall and Winter Schedules, order Transcripts, view Personal information, etc.
You are able to register on the date and time provided on your Registration Notice. You must have a conflict free timetable, making note of the CRN numbers (easiest way to register). If you want to find out how to prepare a conflict free timetable, review this helpful online resource,

Step 1 - Check your Registration Date or Registration Status using myTRU
- Date is usually available online early June
- Go to myTRU - Log In
- Select 'Student Resources' tab
- Select 'Registration Status' - this tells you what your Date and Time is to enrol into your courses for Fall, 2011 and Winter, 2012. Continuing students will be able to find out if there are any holds on their account, such as Library Fines, etc. You must clear all holds before you can web register.
If you do not have a Registration Date, contact Admissions 1-888-522-4822, Local: 250-828-5036 or admissions@tru.ca.
Students are required to pay a $300 commitment fee prior to their date to register or to be wait-listed for courses in the Fall term. If fees are paid through a bank, allow 7 working days for the payment to be applied to your TRU account. The system will do a check to see if the commitment fee has been paid prior to allowing you to register.
The $300 commitment fee will be applied as a deposit toward Fall tuition with the balance due by 4pm, Friday, September 2, 2011.
Students who wish to register only for Winter semester courses must pay a $300 commitment fee which will be applied as a deposit toward Winter term tuition.
Winter semester Tuition is due by December 2, 2011
Note: The TRU Cashier will accept a sponsorship letter in lieu of the payment of the $300 commitment fee.
Step 1 - Go to myTRU - Log In
Step 2 - Select 'Student Resources' tab
Step 3 - Select 'On-Line Payment'

Register using myTRU from any location with internet access on your Registration date and time.
- Access myTRU - Use your TRU student # as your Username and your Birthdate as your Password.
- Ensure you have a conflict free timetable
- Make note of all CRN's for lecture, seminar and lab sections
- Be sure your Commitment Fee is paid
- View Online Web Tutorial for directions on how to register
- Make the following selection once you are in myTRU
Step 1 - Go to myTRU and Log in Step 2 - Select 'Student Resources' tab Step 3a - Select 'Look up Course' - or - Step 3b - Select 'Add or Drop Courses' (You can register courses one at a time by selecting check box or all at once using your CRN numbers from your Timetable/Worksheet) Step 4 - Scroll to bottom of the webpage and Submit Changes Step 5 - 'Add or Drop Courses' screen will appear showing which courses were registered. If you want to make changes use the Action Box to Drop, or Return to Menu, and select the 'Look up Course' screen to begin the process again
If the Section you want is full, choose an alternative Section or Course offered at a different time. Click on 'Submit Changes'.

Step 1 - Go to myTRU and Log-in
Step 2 - Select 'Student Resources' tab
Step 3 - Select 'Print Schedule'

NOTE: Be sure to check your Schedule again shortly before class begins to ensure room numbers, times, etc. are correct.

TRU – Online Registration:
Enrol at 9:00 am or at 1:00 pm on your Registration Date as indicted on your Registration Notice.
Registration for Fall/11 will close midnight September 6, 2011. Registration for Winter/12 will close midnight January 8, 2012. |
In-Person Registration:
The Admissions/Records Office (OM1155) is open for students from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Monday to Friday. Students may come to campus to register anytime on or after their registration date and time as per their Registration Notice.
Review copies of registration printouts carefully. Any errors need to be corrected by Admissions immediately. |
Help Desk
Throughout the registration period, the Academic Advising Department operates a Help Desk for students. If you have tried to register for your courses online but are having difficulty, please contact the Help Desk at 250-828-5075 or
advising@tru.ca Please provide your Name, Program, TRU student number, Registration Date and Telephone number
a) Pay balance of Fall fees by deadline – September 2, 2011
b) Pay all Winter fees by deadline – December 2, 2011
