Choosing and Timetabling Courses
There are a few steps needed to prepare a conflict free timetable and get ready to register for Fall and Winter courses. Please ensure that any courses you select are appropirate for your program.
Step 1 - Choose Courses
The Academic Advising Department has provided
online tutorials that explain the requirements for the various Degrees offered at TRU. These tutorials take 10 to 15 minutes to read through. There are also downloadable
Program Advising handouts outlining the requirements for each degree with ideas for elective choices.
Step 2 - Go to the TRU Calendar
Read about the programs offered, course description and pre-requisites (click on the index once you are at the Calendar)

Step 3 - View currrent Course Schedule
To find out when the courses are offered (days of the week, time, rooms, etc) as well as which semester they are scheduled. Not all courses are offered every semester. Course descriptions can also be viewed using the
Course Schedule.
Step 4 - Course Planning
If you have questions, contact the Academic Advising Department as early as possible. Advisors recommend Fall and Winter courses appropriate for you to take; your program plan will be personalized and aimed to meet your educational goals.
If you plan to register for any 3000 or 4000 level courses, you must have Program Advisor approval.

b) Select a maximum of five courses per semester and use the online
Course Schedule to schedule your courses

Step 1 - Select Term
Step 2 - Select Subject and Course Number
Step 3 - Scroll down to Class Search (all sections of the same course will appear)
Step 4 - Choose the section you want, ensuring that it will not confict with your other courses
Step 5 - Write down the CRN number on your Timetable/Worksheet - this is the number you will need to register into your courses

Definitions
Making a Timetable
It is important to ensure your courses do not conflict. Here's an example showing the lecture sections and the seminar and lab section for Biology 1110 and History 1120. Timetable all courses for Fall, 2012 and Winter, 2013 prior to registering. Remember to make note of important information needed to register - such as:
