Dates and Deadlines

Semesters

Academic, Career/Technology and University Preparatory programs operate on the following semesterized basis:

Fall Semester	September to December
Winter Semester	January to April
Summer Session	May to August (certain programs only)

Some programs have start and end dates which are different from the semester dates outlined above.

2013

January 2-4	Wed-Fri	New International Student orientation.
January 7	Monday	Commencement of instruction for Winter semester programs.
January 18	Friday	Deadline to apply for most TRU scholarships, bursaries and awards.
January 18	Friday	Last day in the Winter semester for: late registration; program changes; course additions; and to change from Audit to Credit or from Credit to Audit; a 100% refund of tuition less the commitment fee paid.
January 25	Friday	Last day to withdraw from a course which spans the Fall and Winter semesters.
February 11	Monday	TRU closed. BC Family Day.
February 18-22	Mon-Fri	Mid-semester break. TRU open.
February 20	Wednesday	Campus-wide Professional Development Day.
March 1	Friday	Last day for early submission of applications for Fall 2013 and Winter 2014 semesterized programs. Deadline for entrance scholarship applications.
March 8	Friday	Last day to withdraw from a Winter semester course.
March 29	Friday	TRU closed. Good Friday.
March 31	Sunday	Student deadline to Apply to Graduate and participate in the Spring Convocation.
April 1	Monday	TRU closed. Easter Monday.
April 12	Friday	Last day of instruction for the Winter semester and to withdraw from a Winter semester program.
April 15	Monday	Winter semester examinations begin.
April 27	Saturday	Last day for Winter semester examinations. Winter semester ends.
April 30	Tuesday	Last day for submission of applications for Fall 2013 and Winter 2014 semesterized programs. Applications received after this date will be considered as late applications and will be processed only as space permits.
April 30-May 3	Tue-Fri	New International Student orientation.
May 3	Friday	Deadline for Faculty to submit Winter Semester Final Grades to Registrar (Policy ED-3-11).
May 6	Monday	Commencement of instruction for Summer semester programs.
May 17	Friday	Deadline for Program Advisors to submit lists of students eligible to graduate.
May 20	Monday	TRU closed. Victoria Day
June 12, 13 &14	Wed, Thur & Fri	Spring Convocation.
June 28	Friday	Last day to withdraw from a Summer full-semester course.
July 1	Monday	TRU closed. Canada Day.
July 31	Wednesday	Student deadline to Apply to Graduate and participate in Fall Convocation
August 1	Thursday	The last day to submit official "final" grades for admission to the Fall 2013 semester.
August 2	Friday	Last day of instruction for the Summer Semester and to withdraw from a Summer session program.
August 5	Monday	TRU closed. British Columbia Day.
August 6	Tuesday	Summer semester examinations begin.
August 9	Friday	Last day for Summer semester examinations. Summer semester ends.
August 16	Friday	Deadline for Faculty to submit Summer Semester Final Grades to Registrar (Policy ED-3-11).
August 25	Sunday	TRU Kamloops campus closed.
August 27-30	Tue-Fri	New International Student orientation.
August 30	Friday	Last day for payment of fees for Fall semester based programs.
September 2	Monday	TRU closed. Labour Day. (Some services available)
September 3	Tuesday	TRU student orientation day.
September 4	Wednesday	Commencement of instruction for all Fall semester programs.
September 6	Friday	Deadline for Program Advisors to submit lists of students eligible to graduate at Fall Convocation.
September 17	Tuesday	Last day in the Fall semester for: late registration; program changes; course additions; and to change from Audit to Credit or from Credit to Audit; a 100% refund of tuition less the commitment fee paid.
September 20	Friday	Deadline to apply for most TRU scholarships, bursaries and awards.
October 11	Friday	Fall Convocation.
October 14	Monday	TRU closed. Thanksgiving.
October 25	Friday	Last day to withdraw from a Fall semester course.
November 1	Friday	Last day for International students to pay winter semester fees.
November 11	Monday	TRU closed. Remembrance Day.
November 29	Friday	Last day of instruction for the Fall semester and to withdraw from a Fall semester program. Last day for payment of fees for Winter semester based programs.
December 2	Monday	Fall semester examinations begin.
December 14	Saturday	Last day for Fall semester examinations. **Note: Some programs may schedule final exams during the last week before Christmas.
December 20	Friday	Deadline for faculty to submit Fall Semester Final Grades to Registrar (Policy ED-3-11).
December 25 January 1	2013 to 2014	TRU is closed December 25, 2013 to January 1, 2014 with services reopening on January 2. Some classes may start prior to the start of the Winter semester.

2014
