May I apply to more than one program?
Typically, a student will apply to only one program of study. However, if the application is for a program which has a 'limited or selective enrollment' process, TRU does allow the student a second choice in a non-limited enrollment program in case they are not able to enter their first choice. (example: apply to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (selective admission process) and apply to the Bacheor of Science program (open admission process) as a back up.)
If I am currently attending TRU and want to apply for another program at TRU, do I need to obtain official transcripts from TRU to be submitted with my application?
NO (Admissions staff at TRU have access to your TRU transcript)
Can you explain to me what an Accuplacer test is?
An Accuplacer test is an achievement test that focuses on Math and/or English. Once written, it is a method of determining a student's current Math and/or English competency. The test is part of some TRU programs admission requirements. If requested, even if you have just graduated from high school, you are required to write it to satisfy the admission requirement. This test may be completed on or off campus. For complete details, please review the Assessment Centre's website.
Do my credits transfer to other post-secondary institutions?
Most academic credits do transfer to academic programs. However, exactly what transfer credit you will receive is dependent on the program of study you are planning to pursue. You should check the BC Transfer Guide with the institution you are planning to attend as to what transfer credit will be accepted.
Will TRU accept transfer of my credits from another post-secondary institution?
TRU has transfer arrangements with all BC public post-secondary institutions. In order to obtain an indication of what course transfer credit is available please check the online transfer guide or contact the Admissions department.
Why did I not receive transfer credit for all of my courses taken at other post-secondary institutions?
Transfer credit is assessed in relation to the program of study you are applying to take at TRU. Only those transfer courses which are related to your program of study at TRU may be transferred.
